
Michael is without doubt one of New Zealand’s iconic personalities. As an established player on the international pro-golf tours, Michael is a true ambassador of his people and country. His story of overcoming great odds to achieve extraordinary things is one that resonates with all people. It is this, and his strong sense of humility, that has resulted him in being held in great esteem throughout the world.
Ken brings vast workplace wisdom and experience to the Foundation from prior presidencies and directorships. Current positions include Deputy Chairman of New Zealand Post Limited, Director of Asia 2000 Foundation of New Zealand, Healthcare of New Zealand Limited and New Zealand Rugby Football Union and the New Zealand Trade and Enterprise Board. He is also a member of the Order of New Zealand and a Justice of the Peace. Ken has close family ties with the Campbell family and has been a mentor to Michael since the beginning of his golfing career.
Julie is married to Michael and has been instrumental in the establishment of the Michael Campbell Foundation. Her determination and commitment to inspiring young people to overcome adversity and reach for their dreams is reflected throughout the Talent Pyramid.
Philip has had a distinguished career across the fields of law, business and politics. He is a leading member of the New Zealand business community, holding positions on the boards of several New Zealand and Australian Companies. His political career began as a National Party member where he was appointed to the New Zealand Cabinet and held a number of senior Ministerial portfolios until his retirement from politics in 1996. Philip has made significant contributions to the planning and implementing of New Zealand’s domestic economic reforms over the past decade.
Liz Read is Corporate Affairs Director with Lion Nathan. Prior to joining Lion Nathan, Liz spent 14 years in the public sector primarily in marketing and communications roles specialising in social marketing, public education and strategic communications management. In 1996 and 1997 Liz worked for government as policy adviser then press secretary to the Minister of Employment.
Craig is recognised as one of New Zealand’s leading entrepreneurs having led Rainbow Corporation in the 1980’s before becoming a director of Brierley Investments and Progressive Enterprisers. In 1998 Craig launched Sky Television and led the business for 12 years, three as Chairman before retiring in 2001. Through the auspices of the Heatley Community Trust, Craig has been the principal catalyst for establishing The First Tee programme in New Zealand.
